mHealth entails the ability to deliver healthcare and wellness services, including prevention, treatment and diagnosis, through mobile communication channels, such as mobile phones, smartphones, mobile apps, platforms and accessories.  The market can be categorised into non-clinical and clinical mHealth solutions.

Non-clinical mHealth solutions provide fitness and wellness services that do not have clinical implications. The clinical mHealth market includes solutions that produce, capture and transmit data that can be used for medical intervention. As a result, clinical mHealth solutions need to adhere to health standards and regulations but at the same time can command a premium price as well as achieving greater adoption amongst end-users.
